A Shared Vision
for Impact

Five South Florida community foundations have come together to ensure everyone in South Florida has the news and information they need because when people have access to reliable, relevant information that connects them, they can take action on the issues they face, together.

With $3 million in seed funding from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Press Florida South Florida will expand support and raise funds for local news initiatives in South Florida.

Have access to multiple sources of reliable news and information, no matter where they live or the language they speak;
Feel more empowered to participate in civic life
Have local news coverage that is holistic, nuanced, inclusive and solutions-oriented

Ecosystem Research

Conducting regional assessments to understand the gap between the news and information South Floridians have and the news and information they say they want and need

Support South Florida’s journalists and news organizations through training, professional development, and investment in journalism education
